Rumour is that our club will be re-opening with 16 minute intervals. Partly to be extra cautious, but mostly because the system is set up for 8 minutes and deleting half the times is easier than resetting it for 10 minutes. You couldn't make it up.
So, with 2 ball groups, that makes slightly less than 8 persons per hour. Hardly seems worth bothering?

Club has reviewed who has played and when over the last week, and has revised our tee booking rules. Still 10 minutes between tee times, but a new constraint.

The new bit is that a member may play no more than 3 rounds in a 'calendar' week (Monday to Sunday), of which no more than two can be in the peak hours (7:30-14:30).

I am thinking this new constraint has come about as a result of the tee being fully booked for 18holes a week ahead with the 'new day' being booked up almost immediately a day is opened up - and I'm guessing that the club has received a number of moans - and spotted some members playing loads :)

We've also pushed our final tee time out from 6:50pm to 7:30pm.

Good to see the club being proactive in trying to keep as many of us content with how things are.

On one hand I can see that as positive to try and give as a many a chance to play as possible but on the flip side if a member pays a four figure sum to play and have 7 day membership then I can see how they'd be annoyed at having their golf restricted. We are allowing golf to be played until 7.15 and everyone MUST be offsite by 7.30 at the latest. There are plans to add later times and stay open longer going forward but nothing announced yet

That's why I think ours is being so fair. Can play everyday but only nine holes with a two tee start. Seems to give everyone a chance.

Along with our email earlier today, they are also planning on adjusting a couple of rules. We were limited to 3 times a week, and....we still are if we want to play before 2pm. But to relieve the logjam of people wanting to play earlier you can play everyday if those extra days are after 2pm. Makes sense to me....might get a few people to avoid the earlier times.

Indeed - but I and many other M-F 9-5 workers in my club pay a four figure sum for seven day membership and I can only play evenings and weekends...I need to have as much chance as possible to grab an weekday evening slot and shouldn't really be having to compete for one of these slots with those who can play any time of the day every day - and that do...

A two tee start wouldn't work great with us as tenth tee is in the middle of nowhere maybe a mile or so from the clubhouse and main car parking.

Subject to approval the club here look like they will go with 4-balls only when they open in two weeks.
Plus one player only to a buggy and the usual 10 min spacing

Various other rules for safe play

This time last week noone was allowed to play golf at all, anyone who's annoyed at "only" being able to play 3 times a week needs to take a long hard look at themselves.

Feeling good about playing, yep. Should I feel "bad" because I want to play more??? Nope. Why should I feel bad? I'd like a new car......and a bigger back garden.....and...and...........wanting something is not evil.

I would love to play more, however I am not remotely annoyed that I can not, I'm grateful for the 2 rounds a week I can play compared to where we were last week. There's only a certain amount of tee times available and I think it's only fair that all members should have an opportunity to play at some point.

Fair enough...you aren't annoyed. I'm a bit annoyed. I am playing tomorrow and Saturday and then there are no more tee times until Tuesday/Wed evening. For some silly reason, our BRS opens the day one week from now that you can sign up. So tonight.....at MIDNIGHT, I can sign up for next Thursday. By the time I get up in the morning, all the morning slots are gone.....there are some really nocturnal people around here.

Email here for Inverness, 2 balls only and 10min intervals.
Only 2 bookings per person per week.
All social distance rules in place.
We have that new device for flags were you use your putter to lift bottom of cup and get ball out of the hole.

All our tee times are going live at 6PM, by 10 past there's very few if any tee times available. Now if you were to take up one of those tee times to play your 4th round of the week when I haven't been able to play at all, then, maybe I might be a little annoyed.

I'm one of those people who likes to practice....even if it doesn't do any good. I'm not allowed to go onto the practice ground before 8am.....I usually go about 6:30-7am this time of year so I don't have to share the field. I'm not allowed to.....another annoyance. I could live with not playing more.....but because they won't let me go out early to practice....I can't practice. I won't share the field with more than one other person....done it in the past and the balls flying past me are just....a...little.....annoying. I've got the practice green area booked for this Friday, only one person is allowed there.....and my short game always needs more work.

To check the guidance to go from 10minute tee slots to 8min ones.

Hence the booking that opened today for next Tuesday is now in 8min increments after 7.30.
Between 6 and 7.30 we have longer gaps to help the green staff prepare the course each morning.
Interesting, we e-mailed them today and the answer was most definitely stick to 10.

So grateful our club opens bookings at 7.00am each day. Seems a far more logical time and as a lot of people are up anyway seems a fairer way to log in and get a time rather than waking up and seeing the majority gone
