    Playing Multiple Courses

I find it strange that most on here seem to be playing better away from home. I'm a one course pony. I can shoot a decent score away from home, but most of the time I play like I've never been on a golf course before. But with the above said, I do think it is making you a better player in the...

    Best course.

Haven't played many top courses, and even though it kicked the living hell out of me - so far I'd have to say Royal Cinque Ports. I just recently played Carnoustie, but I'd hold RCP higher. Playing both Sunningdale courses with the forum this summer, and given some of the earlier responses here...

How far do you live from your home course

4.1 miles, or: 3 min walk to bus, 8-10 min on the bus followed by a 10 min walk. So let's say 25 min door to locker room. Then it's a 3 min walk from club house to our course as the course and club house are on opposite sides of a dual carriageway.

    KENT TOUR 18/19/20 November

As you saw in the other thread - terrible! I’m 100% sure it said that the comp was gonna be played on Dunes/Himalayas so arriving on Sunday that’s where we had our warm up round. Shot an 87, which for me is a decent score so I came into the comp quite confident of playing to the best of my...

Played on Open competition at Princes Golf Club today and it was terrible. 96 gross on the first 18. Quick lunch and out again for another 18. Started par, par, bogey, par and birdie and I was hoping that I could recover somewhat from the first round when all hell broke loose with a lousy tee...

    Carnoustie Report

Funny you mentioned the 9th. We had the wind in our back and coincidentally I managed to hit probably one of the best drives in my life which broke 300 yards so only had a little wedge in and 2-putt for par. :)

    Carnoustie Report

Hopefully a few years time down the line I can say the same thing as the happyhacker, but for now yellow was well enough to pose a real challenge to me as well as it's not only the length of the course that is the issue, but the placement of bunkers etc. And regarding the length I can only go by...

    KENT TOUR 18/19/20 November

Is there anyone else here on the forum that has signed up for the Open comp at Princes next Monday besides me and @MendieGK perhaps? Me and my mate will come down Sunday to play a practice round and then staying at the lodges. Don't be a stranger if you're doing the same and you hear 2 guys at...

As I got unfinished business with Royal Cinque Ports due to gale winds and rain pouring down the only time I've been there, it's best to come prepared better next time with a pair of dry shoes. With me I'd have: My dad Eddie Pepperell and Bill Murray for giggles

    Carnoustie Report

Yeah, obviously a big difference with how it was played back in the days, but I just don't see any other way of playing it rather than go in between there. :) But it's all good history, so just something that popped into my mind when standing there on the tee. If it wasn't so bloody expensive...

    Carnoustie Report

We were extremely lucky with the weather the whole weekend. I don't think you'll get much calmer conditions than we had. With that said, the wind still made a few of the holes really tough. With the wind against, to actually reach, with the wind in your back, to know which club to chose not to...

    Carnoustie Report

Our tee times on the first 2 days was 13:07 and 14:32, and given that I woke up at 6 am out of sheer excitement every morning I couldn't help myself but to walk it! I had 5 pars on it, all on the front 9. That missed putt was, as already written, the start of my biggest melt down I've ever...

    Carnoustie Report

Warning: Novel length-post! This isn't so much of a review, but more of a trip report of some kind. If you want a review of the actual course itself, then here it is: Fantastic. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sitting at the office...

Got my first out of 3 rounds at Carnousite in yesterday at the Burnside course. Played like an absolute donkey on the front 9 and at the turn I had 10 points. Coming up here I had my mind set on just trying to enjoy myself but no, I don’t work that way. I redeemed myself on the back and got 9...
