    Angry stolen pet

Well i thought we had done everything right , we bought a cat from a womwn who said she had to ger her a new home as one of her daughters was autistic and "loving" the cat a little too much and was scared of hurting her . We collected her from her house saw where she lived , how she was etc.
On collection she stated she was 1 , had all the documentation but had just misplaced it and would forward when found (slight alarm here but seemed ok ) .
Anyway wife said ok . We took her to the vets yesterday just for a check over and got the chipping companys details , phoned said company turns out cat was lost\stoled 3weeks ago .Now we obviously will return the cat but it winds me up as to how can this woman think she could have got away with this i do not know , not sure as to our next steps but i think or rarther am sure we need to involve the police in this to see if she is indeed doing this regularly .

While i was typing this the wife rang to tell me a friend has duginto a local website with pets for sale and it seems she is a serial seller !!!
This looks to be heading downhill for her .
One positive a family will be getting their beloved pet back .

Nightmare, on the positive some family will be reunited with their beloved kitty so be happy with that, and of course the crook should get her comeuppance .
Are you going to return it yourself?

It also shows the importance of getting your pet chipped.

What a horrible individual. I hope she gets her comeuppance.

Yes i will inform the RSPCA as well , with a bit of digging it seems she has a history of pets needing "rehoming" rarther frequently .
Thank god this cat was chipped and at least we can return her .

What a bizarre case. I knew that some breeds of dogs get stolen to be sold, but didn't know it happened with cats, didn't think they were worth much in monetary terms. How much did you pay for it?

Some of the pedigree breeds can be very expensive.
British Blues for example can sell for hundreds of pounds.

Think ‘The Norwegian Blue parrot’ was very expensive! Nudge nudge!

Sorry for the delay replying but we have been a little busy trying to sort this out , she is a British blue and she did indeed cost the wife a couple of hundred pounds . However the cost is not the issue i believe its the fact that someone thinks its ok to steal someones pet and resell it as theirs .
