Found out yesterday I'm eligible to play in the Caledonian League friendlies, which includes TOC and Carnoustie for £15 with a meal included
I always thought that the Jubilee was the better course there. I love the 15th there I think, the par 4 that tees off along the big sand dune then drops into a dip and climbs up to the green surrounded by gorse bush. I think that is the 15th or whatever hole it is, I love how there are many ways to play it and when the wind is blowing it can be a real test of your ability.

I've a new question for you all. Any recommendations on rain gear? Jackets, pants, etc. I know the weather will be unpredictable and I currently don't have any waterproof gear.

Definitely required! The chances of getting a completely dry week in Scotland are quite slim, even in summer.

I'd say in the past ten years, summer are the wettest months up here.

Like what brands and type of gear do you all use? I don't usually play in the rain, most course here close if there is a lot of rain predicted anyways. (Texas)

I played, there April last year and that was after almost 3 months of no rain, course was rock hard and we had a great week weather wise, with just a bit of wind (maybe 2 clubs) across the course into off the first.

as Cabby says you have more chance of rain in summer than winter in Scotland: and on the whole spring has been good the last few years.

Wet Weather gear though, most people i know all have Galvin Green Gortex stuff. not sure they do that in the states, seen Zero restriction is a US brand and they have Gortex stuff, which will be quite similar
