Re: Are you aware of your PP's score ??

There are some players I keep a very close eye on their score!

My normal PP's, I have an idea of how they are doing but wouldn't know exactly.

Re: Are you aware of your PP's score ??

My most regular playing partners are off 3, 8 and 24. I know exactly hwat the 3 is on. 8 I'd be ballpark, but unless the 24 is having a red letter day I'd be hard pressed to put an exact number on it. That said I could recount exactly how many strokes on every hole they had if I thought about it afterwards.

In every case, if someone is having a blinder I don't mention it. I don't think I'd be too pushed if someone mentioned to me I was having a good day, but I know others don't appreciate it.

Re: Are you aware of your PP's score ??

Pretty much everyone I have ever played with stops after the 9th hole and tallies up the scores at that point, easier to check and remedy mistakes whilst the holes are still fresh in your mind. If you didn't realise they were scoring well before then you soon do, vice versa. If they are scoring well and continue to do so then I will keep an extra eye out, especially if my round is not going well. If I can't do well in a comp then I would like my pp to, I'm a friendly soul like that. It keeps the interest going, adds an extra edge.

What I would never do is give a running commentary after each hole. I would keep an eye out but don't tell the person. The only instance I may say something is if they had played a bad shot and looked like throwing the hole in a meltdown. I would say something then just to calm them down and hopefully keep their card going.

Re: Are you aware of your PP's score ??

I usually know if anyone in my group has a decent score going on and would just leave him to get on with it. The banter might get a little less but none of my regular playing mates would be be talking about his score to him as it would likely work the wrong way.

Re: Are you aware of your PP's score ??

i have no idea. all my playing partners are cat 1 so its hard to tell if they are doing a little better or worse. usually at the end of the round one will say “that's 3 under " usually followed by " bloody hell, i didn't think you was playing that well"

My ppd are cat 1 so easy to tell.
higher caps just let them enjoy it if doing well, only give my opinion when asked .
This goes for all my golf if someone asks for help I will offer a tip/opinion
Its nice to see PPs doing well and if I can’t win always want one of them to.
