    cheeky buggers
McDonald’s drive through I use always ask if you want a bag. I say “no” but when you go to the next window they always put it in a bag anyway. Question should be “do you want to give us an extra 5p?”

The Burger King issue is an odd one as the bags are paper. There is no issue or charge for a paper bag, it is for plastic only.

Just out of curiosity how does using your own mug work on a hygeine level? Do they wash it for you before making your stuff?

Paper bags are included in the charge up here.

Unlikely probably a franchise as opposed to company store - shouldn't make a difference, but bet it does.

I didn't know that. Seems odd as paper can be easily recycled and really does degrade in a short space of time, unlike plastic bags.

It’s devolution, we’re a higher tax regime up here.

I wonder when we’ll be levied for the packaging from the supermarket or the box that golf balls come in?

Its an ‘in vogue’ excuse for a tax grab.

We’re one of the highest taxed countries in the world, and yet more taxation coming our way. I dare say many can afford it but what about those that are struggling?

First they came for the smokers
Then they came for the alcohol drinkers
Now they are coming for the coffee drinkers.

Coffee tax in the next budget.
