    Here’s one for you.

I land on the fringe in front of a bunker and there is sand in front of my ball. My pp is in the bunker and on splashing his ball out even more sand is now in front of my ball on the fringe.

How do I distinguish what I can brush away and can’t 🤔

    😉

Only in the same circumstance as a pitch mark that has been made after your ball came to rest. In other words, if the sand was their first, you can't touch it, as Rory found out to his detriment!

Not only mad but against the rules.

Rule 10 says that the honour on the first tee is decided by the order of the draw. If there is no draw (or the group is unaware of the draw) then it is decided by lot - any of the usual ways, toss of coin, spin of a teepeg or whatever.

Seems pedantic, I know, and probably should be "ready golf". The way you do it just increases the lowest handicap's self-importance.

And yes - we too have one for comps - for obv reasons (we want as many members to play in a comp and to be threes if at all possible), reasons that don't need to apply to casual golf.
    to infinity and beyond...

...well from 10.0 to 9.4 this year would be nice.

And last medal of the year (Oct) saw me play to handicap but CSS was +1 so that was me down 0.2 from 8.3 to 8.1

    Job done
