    Buying 2 cars

In the near future i am looking to purchase 2 cars, one for the wife as a little runaround,it will be used for short journeys and a bigger family car, more of an estate than a 4X4 but with plenty of space.
I have always had an Audi or a BMW but now have had enough of the really expensive running costs especially now it now had had to have some expensive work done on it.

My question would be whats the best way to buy or rent or not own a car.

I have the cash so buying outright is an option,i also understand you can fork out a few grand then pay a monthly amount as well.
Im looking for the best way and maybe a money saving way as well so i can keep my capital.

I have always bought from main dealers or reputable dealers and i suspect that wont change as i like some sort of security just in case they go wrong early after purchasing.

Looking for some good advice please

    Re: Buying 2 cars

I bought a car recently for HID, after the best deal was offered the garage offered an extra 1,000 off if we did it on finance at 0% - an offered couldn't refuse! I'm just debating whether to pay it off immediately or let it run an earn a bit of interest on the cash I'd have paid. We bought an all electric car which is great as a runabout and very cheap!

I bought a new car in 2015, a Ford Fiesta 1ltr ecoboost with zero road tax. Bought it for work and wanted to keep weekly running costs low. Got it on finance over 3 years, considered a lease deal but I couldn't get my head round the "Baloon payment" at the end.

We are now in the process of buying the wifes car - she needs the bigger one to transport the grandkids around and can also use for going away so we're getting a Ford Focus Estate - lovely car!
Paying 50% deposit then rest on interest free finance. Will probably pay off balance of my car to ease the monthly outlay with the new car payments.

take a look at the new volvo 40 range ,or if that isnt big enough try the 60 range ,they have some great offers at the moment to suit your method of purchase.

Personally with interest rates due to rise I wouldn't be taking out any debt that wasn't needed

If interest rates are going to rise then now is exactly the right time to take out debt at a fixed rate. Debt has never been cheaper so why not load up while the going is good.
