Why is it jumping the queue? If the road design is laid out that there are two lanes that can be used it's not Kellfire's fault that many drivers don't use the second lane. It's a bit harsh to call Kellfire names just because he uses the road as it was designed to be used.

To be fair a filter lane isn't two lanes though is it its one lane, the other is left only in most cases, if its two lanes its not a filter lane

If there is 2 lanes, a left lane for people turning left which is clear, and a right lane for people going straight on and right, which is queuing.

If you use the left lane and try to cut in you are a giant t1t, not sure why anyone does let you in.

Unfortunately the usual suspects don't understand the concept of 'filter' preferring to use 'barge in' as their default attitude...

I'm talking about places where, often after a roundabout, there are two lanes coming off the roundabout that then filter back into one lane after a couple of hundred yards.

The "outside" lane of the two is designed to stop traffic bunching up on the roundabout by allowing traffic on it to join in the two exit lanes. But people leave the second lane empty, presumably because they're scared of appearing to be jumping the queue. If people used it properly, both of those lanes would have similar numbers of people in it and you'd alternate at the head of the queue as to who goes next.

    But people don't do that.

So no, I'm not selfish, I'm using the road correctly.

Though when you reached the front of the queue you could politely wait until you were invited into the queued lane - but most folks don't - they barge in.
    to infinity and beyond...

...well from 10.0 to 9.4 this year would be nice.

And last medal of the year (Oct) saw me play to handicap but CSS was +1 so that was me down 0.2 from 8.3 to 8.1

    Job done

The situation I'm referring to is a single lane road that widens into 2 lanes for about 100 yards either side of a set of lights then about 400 yards further on there is a roundabout. During rush hour the traffic is queued back from the roundabout right through the lights and way back down the road. So everyone is queued up 'stop starting' but some people reach the 2 lane section and think it's OK to drive past all the queuing cars then push back in again.

Sorry but I don't see how in a queuing situation that is using the road correctly. If the traffic is flowing freely and you want to overtake a slower vehicle then fair enough but in rush hour it is simply rude.

I indicate and wait. I certainly don't start barging my way in. It's rare that I'm not let in right away.
