    Who am I?

Not sure if this will take off or not but wondered if people can guess who I am talking about.

I won twice on the European Tour.
I was involved in three play-offs during my career. I won one.
During one of my play-offs I blew a commanding lead on the 18th before losing in the play-off. That was my best finish in a Major.
I only competed in 14 major tournaments, but I'll never be forgotten for my loss.

    Round 2:

I came from a poor background and my initial foray into golf was through caddying.
I used to play the members for money using garden tools for clubs. And I would win.
I went on to become a Major winner and had a cameo role in a well known golf film.

Lee Trevino (if correct , he also used to play for money he didn't have, so the story goes)

    Round 3:

I turned pro in 1991 but had to wait 11 years for my first full season on the European tour.
My first win came 2 years later. It was a 6 year wait for my second (and final) win on the European Tour (true as of today).
Most significant about my second win; I had only found out on the Monday that I had received a sponsor's invitation. I beat Frederik Anderson Hed and Luke Donald in a play-off.

If you start one with "he likes to do 300 press ups every day before breakfast, but prefers to keep that to himself" then you really will be making it too easy
