Shocking and the sound of the gunfire is frightening. The sad thing is it will go on forever and absolutely anyone could be effected.Sad day as usual. My thoughts are with anyone who has been hurt or killed today.

We are now at the stage in society where you can hear/see on social media and news web sites the sound of at least 50 innocent people being slaughtered in real time. I sometimes weep for the world we are leaving the future generations.

Totally agree. Society is becoming desensitized and just accepts violence as part of living, or dying...

Just terrible and still shocking. Why the USA can't see that restricting access to these sorts of weapons is essential I will never understand.

It's a facile comment but I can't help thinking about it.... Mrs FD is off to Vegas next week, so glad it wasn't this week.

Jeez, I was there last weekend as well, staying at the Luxor - a bit too close for my liking

If they did not after Sandy Hook when Obama was president then there is absolutely no chance now.

It will just follow the same depressingly familiar narrative with the words 'lone wolf' and mental illness being banded around by the right wing news outlets as a convenient excuse and there will be lots of arguments when Trump more than likely refuses to mention anything about terrorism in his condemnation of the slaughter of innocent people just enjoying a concert. And the NRA will suggest none of this would have happened if hotel staff were all armed or something nonsense like that.

Stayed at the Luxor a few weeks ago and was in Mandalay Bay many times. Surreal.
