    I'm a fan of Rock but we are not on talking terms so I don't know😁. Maybe, like lots of us he saw the story, thought he understood the rule but hadn't fully deciphered it. I doubt he is alone in that.

    How about if ''part of the course (leaf, twig, worm etc) deflects your ball, tough/good luck''.

    If a foreign body (cap, seagull, horse, hippopotamus, alligator) deflects your ball, replay no penalty.

    why do you differentiate between worms and alligators? They are both animals
    When does an animal fall in to one or other animal category?

    If there were alligators at your course, I'd expect they would be covered in the local rules.
    Worms however are found on most courses

    Define 'part of the course' and 'foreign body'

    But alligators don't need a local rule, there is already a substantive rule in the book.
