    Lines on your ball

Harrington claims drawing a line on his ball has worked wonders for his putting.

Have you drawn a line on your ball and do you use it?

Are you allowed to pick up your ball and reposition with the line facing the hole?

Assuming your on the green, ensure your marker is placed before touching/moving/realigning your ball

Most balls have an alignment line already on them?!

Too much hassle to draw it on. I just use the makers name.

Any time you have the ball in hand you may place or replace it exactly how you want it. Just remember that once it has been placed other than on a putting green it is in play and cannot be picked up again and be replaced or moved in any way. So no moving it to get the aim line precisely pointing at the target if you are off the green.

    Re: Lines on your ball

I use a ball balancing machine, which results in a line on the ball which I use to line up the ball wherever I am 'legally' able to do so but I am not particulalrly bothered about having it aimed 100% accurately like you see a lot of the pros do.

Tried it, didn't like it, have much better results without using one!
