    Any tumble drier experts?

Our tumble drier has stopped going round. It still heats up but doesn't spin. Any ideas on what it might be or how to fix it? Or is it a case of the repair costing more than the machine is worth? It's the replacement one I got during the recall due to the fire risk and typically is outside of the warranty by a couple of months.

sounds like the belt or the motor
best bet is to phone your local guy and ask him, he has almost certainly come up against this issue before and will be able to quote fairly accurately
then you can compare with the price of a new one
    Driver Callaway Rogue
5 Wood Callaway XR A Flex
    7 Wood. Callaway Big Bertha
    Hybrid 2 Callaway Epic 5
Irons 5-PW Orka GS5 CTI Flatline 80A Graphite
    Wedges Cleveland 588 RTX 52, 56, 60
    Putter. Seemore Giant
    Handicap 21.1 Whipsnade Park GC

If you can hear the motor it will be the belt unless it is direct drive. Could be a simple fix such as a wire loose but there is no way of knowing without taking the rear/top cover plates off.

When it comes to tumble driers I have always said if I cannot find the fault myself then it is not worth repairing.

Its probably a snapped belt, they are usually the elastic type.(sounds like oyu have a Hotpoint/Indesit)
They are horrible to replace, but can be done. Question though, is it a tumble dryer (has a vented out hose) or is it a condenser dryer?
    Forever trying.

    Thought it was.
It can be done, but you would need to check for fluff obstruction in and around the felts and bearings. Sadly those elastic belts many use now dont last or have the give needed to last.
It all depends on if you know a good local appliance man, the manufacturer will take almost as much as a new machine.
    Forever trying.

If you can diagnose the fault , use espares.co.uk for parts . Ive always had good service from them and in a lot of cases they have a video tutorial of how to change the part

Treble that and add some for a decent heat pump condenser.

Normally I would but have just bought a new washing machine today so was hoping that someone might be able to suggest a cheap/free fix that would get it going again even if only for a few more months.
