    Checking Alignment Prior to Shot

    Am I allowed to place my club across my shoulders to check my alignment before then addressing the ball and making my stroke?

    You also need to check your feet - not much point checking your shoulders if the feet arn't in alignment as well.

    Not necessarily
    In an ideal world the whole body should be square but there are many golfers out there who hit the ball straight BECAUSE their feet aren't square
