I'm there for the course not the meal, yes the whole experience would be nice but I'd prefer that experience at the end of my round/s, not in the middle of it.
I think this would be the result of that different poll and I'm there for the course. Not fussed on the J&T policy and while for these two days I'll comply (through gritted teeth) I can see situations where more and more societies will decide enough of this fuss and go to their cars (or offsite if a club gets ultra snooty) and eat sandwiches

Sunningdale's 'between rounds' meal is (or it was when I played) just put a jacket on over the top of the clothes you've just walked 5 miles in.

    How sophisticated.

It was a pleasant enough meal. I'll happily eat there next time too. But only so impressive a carvery can be imo.

I didn't have to change when I played there last year.

Only 2 places I can recall having to change for lunch are Rye and West Hill and WH relaxed the rule as it was a stinking hot day.

It certainly suggests that there will only be a need to wear a a jacket. Depending on the gap though. I'd rather freshen up. Wearing a jacket over golf gear is a ridiculous notion.

How often do people actually play golf then sit down for a 3 course meal afterwards?
