    Club championships... No2

After winning the Nairn Handicap club championship a few weeks ago, i thought i would chance my arm at Tain as well.

two round of stroke play, Saturday and Sunday this weekend with the top 16 gross qualifying for the scratch and the next 16 the handicap.

Saturday was brutal with only 4 guys breaking 80 gross all those being plus fig handicaps and ended up being RO Yesterday was slightly easier with only about 20MPH gusts and it switching around so no real help on the front 9.

was unlucky on the front 9 but played well into the wind, disappointed with 18, hit a great drive and a flushed 5 iron that went though the back s a bogey on the last cost me the lead. but got a cut.

so though to the knock out stages this week of the Scratch Champs. slightly different to the Nairn CC its 4 round of match play 3 nights this week and the 36 hole final on Saturday.

I have my work cut out and there are at least 5 plus figure players and a couple of scratch.

    playing tonight at 6

There is no such thing as a 'handicap' club championship, it's proper name is a medal

    Well played Patrick, good luck!!

Patrick, are the dates for the knockout rounds fixed? What about people that can't get there from work on time?

no fixed draw, which was done yesterday with 1st group a 5.30 and the last 6.30.

if you can't make it you would have to have said after the 2nd round, then the next best gross would take their place.

    Same with Nairn fixed times
