We got considerably less points than previous year. Quite a few I know wanted him gone (I didn't).

I would hazard a guess that most clubs of our stature have got less points during their first season contending with europa league.

He rotated a lot to start, but that was down to Austin being injured and having no striker options.

I think its a mistake. Unless we back a new manager (which I fear we won't) thenwhat difference they can make is beyond me!

Was that his just style of football?
from the outside it seems despite a sluggish finish overall a decent season?

Seems to be high hopes in search for a new manager Tuchal?

Yes very much to do with the style of football.

League position for Southampton good, but look at their points total. They only avoided relegation by 12 points. They were closer to being relegated than qualifying for European Football. Not surprised Puel has gone.

I think he'll be a good signing for you. I've not seen him live, but what I have seen I've been pretty impressed. As I said before, he's not only a great shot stopper, he has fantastic kicking distribution and seems to command his box.
I know he's rated by the Sunderland fans up here, and he also seems a level headed guy.
