The atmosphere was good in places, but like the team, everyone had a 10 minute rest on about 70 minutes, and the crowd (and team) never got going again.

Overall we deserved 3 points, but again we give the others 2-3 good chances and they score 2.

Think we got what we deserved you can't give the ball away that much and expect to win.
Miss the target from 12 yds is not good but thought Firmino was our best player.
Thought the crowd were very nervous and this was transmitted to the team.

Personally thought Liverpool where really good first half, second half never lived up to standards for whatever reason. Point gained, move on.

Good to see Philly back in a red shirt!

btw. I've only just got in, how much of a wool does that make me??

Thought we seemed nervous, maybe it was such a build up to finally being back in the CL. But again its the same old story with us...... look amazing going forward until the decisive bit where we actually stick the ball in the back of the net and again pretty shambolic in defense. They had 2 shots on target and scored both of them.....it's happened so many times with so many teams.

Oh well, at least the other game was a draw.

Both Lovren and Fonte were excellent at Southampton but both are heavily criticised for their performances since moving on. Does that indicate how well Southampton coached them or are their new teams using them differently? Does it mean that a little more caution should be applied when looking at the price tag for VVD or do Southampton fans see him as an entirely different level?

I wonder if they're under the microscope a little more.... were they completely without fault at previous clubs? I doubt it. But mistakes aren't as exaggerated by the media when less is expected of a team.

I think the VVD situation is weird....he's touted as being like some kind of god, its as though he'll come into defence and then thats it, all problems solved no goal shall ever be scored again. Realistically he's just another fella.

Unproven at the top level and also yet to show he's recovered from a fairly serious injury. I get the feeling that Liverpool would've got their man a long time ago for much less money had they not annoyed Southampton with a dodgy approach.
