He could be a game changer for the rest of the season but still waiting until it’s official. Possibly a keeper arriving as well

Well it’s confirmed - that’s a lot of money but dismisses a few myths about Klopp and transfers and owners willing to spend big money

Congrats to Southampton. Great bit of business and also not getting steamrolled. They keep turning them out and selling to Liverpool for mega millions. Only seems one winner in theses deals and it not liverpool

Re Pep, it is always mentioned that he has walked into big clubs and managed the best players. It is either forgotten or dosent suit people's points of views to remember his first Job was at Barca B. He had played for Barca for years and knew there system inside out. It was because of the job he did with that team ( Barca B) that got him the Job at Barca, when of all people Maureen was the front runner. It was also at the time as Barca have admitted, signing Pep was a massive gamble as they did not know what to expect. There were rumblings at Barca when they lost two of there first three games, one of which was agonist a promoted team. Have a quick look at the players he dumped at Barca before the start of his first season. There are comparisons with what he has done at City.
Peps view re De Bryune was sought re City buying him. City were not spending 50 odd million on a player if Pep did not want him. It may seem tosh, but it wasn't tosh when Pellegrini was informed mid season he was surplus to requirements at the end of the season. Which still rankles City fans in the way it was done.
You are right, we did win the prem two years earlier and then struggled to finish fourth with the same two year older players whose energy had gone. That is why. hart, Zabba, clichy, Sagna, Demichellis, Nasri, Kolarov, Caballero, Dzeko and others have gone whilst YaYa who was a rock is now a shadow of his former self. Ten players now no more, yet he hasn't built or bought a team to play his way?
what I will argue all day about is that the team/ squad he inherited at City was miles behind the talent he inherited at both Barca and Munich.
None of us know the truth, Michael Laudrup claimed he was to be the next manager after Rikjaard, Barca probably looked across Europe, 2 of the 3 games you mentioned were in the CL, they were 4-0 up after the first leg and lost the 2nd 1-0, they then lost their opening game before going 20 games unbeaten and winning the treble.
I hope Bayern aren’t reading your posts because your saying City were in contact with Pep over signings 8 months before his decision to leave Bayern was announced and 14 months before he joined you.
It wouldn’t be a difficult argument to say City were miles behind 2 of the top 3 Clubs in Europe when he joined you would it.
He’s been brought in to win the CL, he’ll be given as much as he wants and if he fails the next guy will get more.

    Re: And, we're off, 2017/18.......

Yes, it was me who brought Gerrard into the equation, I asked in relation to the term "Legend"
I live in the North-East, where Shearer is regarded as a legend amongst Newcastle fans. What did Shearer win at Newcastle United - didley squat - nowt. If he went to Man United, he would have won a boatload of medals, championship medals and the top European club competition.
However Shearers desire was to play for his home team club, his heart probably ruled his head, but he did get to wear the famous No 9 shirt and score plenty of goals in front of the Gallowgate.
Was Shearer a legend, he certainly is in Newcastle where he was awarded the freedom of the city. He is hero worshipped up here, and in this bubble he is classed as a legend.
The same I'm sure is thought of Matt Le Tiss at Southampton who also won didley squat. Neither have medals, but each are regarded as legends.

    LoL £75M for VVD

I wouldn’t want him at Arsenal, he has been wholly unprofessional at Soton and is obviously a bad character, not to mention the bad injury he suffered.

Soton have had a great Xmas if this turns it to be true.
