    Re: Article 50

Gina Miller and the others who brought this action are liars. They say they are protecting democracy but democracy was served in the referendum. This is a blatant attempt to deny democracy and they should be honest about their intentions.
Parliament exists to serve the democratic will of the people. What idiots like David Lammy et al fail to understand is that if our elected representatives vote against triggering Article 50, the people will lose all respect and trust in Parliament. They will never vote again. Gina Miller calls it the "Mother of all Parliaments" but seemingly wants it usurped by Brussels.
Our elected representatives have a duty to implement the result of the referendum. The government has no choice (see picture).
And all those anti-democrats that are celebrating today may what to pause and reflect. This ruling has just placed UKIP, the party they all hate, front and centre again. Once again the establishment has proved Farage right. He said UKIP was needed to ensure Brexit happened and 4 short months later look where we are.

It's called Separation of Powers and it's to stop the executive doing whatever they want.

I now have to start lobbying my MP - Mr Jeremy Hunt (yes he). Hunt voted Remain as did his South West Surrey constituency (largely Waverley Borough which was split 58.4%/41.6%).

...well from 10.0 to 9.4 this year would be nice.

And with just the October medal to go - I've got to 8.3

OK accepted - but I'll add The rally was also given fresh impetus by news the UK Government was defeated in the High Court over its ability to trigger Article 50.

All of the above is frankly nonsense, and whether deliberate or otherwise, misunderstands and misrepresents our democracy and referendum (regardless of what politicians might say about the latter).

But just to pick up on one very important point. This is simply WRONG. Parliament exists to serve the best interests of the people in the view of the people's representatives (the MPs) - it does NOT exist to serve the will of the people.

You are furious about what? That the UKs most senior judge, supported to by two of the most experienced judges in the UK have ruled on a matter of law?

Not that they have ruled on it but the ruling they have given... As I say, its no matter as it will shake out the same.
