    I played today and...(Rolling thread)

Thought it might be nice to set up a rolling thread similar to the other one which asks us to record our buffering and competition successes, but dedicate this one only to general play.

A place where we can revel in the joy of a game of golf with mates or indeed others, or even just a solo practice session etc. Just somewhere we can recird our achievements and experiences perhaps without the need to start a new thread.

    I'll lead off.

Nine of us played today in three ball teams with best two to count off the whites. It stayed dry despite the Met Office forecast of a deluge and I used my 'new' RBZ driver which is giving me a good 10 - 15 yards over my old King Cobra.

Had a great time and managed to take the money (we scored 80 points which was 8 under). We had a few drinks in the clubhouse afterwards and set the world to rights.

It's these simple pleasures that make social golf such a wonderfully enjoyable antidote to the hurly burly of our otherwise busy modern lives.

    A simply sublime day.

I shredded my knee last night while practiceing and ended up on the ground biting the muscle as hard as I could. Guessing I will not be joining this thread again for a while.

Are you running out of topics for new threads?

Strikes me as odd though that there are some who seem to have a chronic aversion to new threads. In a forum that exists to discuss things in general then to simply regurgitate the same old same old day after day is pointless really.

But were I to subscribe to that school of thought then I'd simply not enter into comment on any particular thread that a) doesn't interest, or b) irritates me.

    But then that's just me.
