Re: Belek golf and hotel advice

Myself and 15 others from my club have been to the Voyage for the last two years all inclusive.

Have to say the hotel and facilities are excellent.

Last year we played the Montgomerie (twice),...

Re: How Do You Know a Club is Good?

I think the main thing is being made to feel welcome.

One of the worst things often happens before you even get in the clubhouse and that's the dreaded "visitors parking" sign. There's nothing to...

    Re: Your best ever score

Best score in a comp off the whites is a 72 (par 70 sss 69) which I've shot 3 or 4 times.

Off the yellows I've shot 67 three times (par 70 Sss 67)

Funnily enough I've shot a level par 71 off...

    Re: Stableford - Joke !

I was interested in the scenario posted by the OP where a player in a stableford comp who completed all 18 holes was beaten by a player who maybe only finished 16 or 17 (or indeed fewer) holes. I got...

Well...the OP was talking about playing on his 6 hole par 3 course or on the main course during the evening when it was quiet.....nothing about a stipulated round.

    Interestingly....the draft...

    Re: World Cup 2018

Should we make it through the semi-final with Sterling once more firing blanks, I will be straight down the bookies to put money on him scoring the winner in the final.

Thinking about it though, I wouldn't worry too much....CSS goes away in 2020!!!
  10. Re: Any thoughts on gamesmanship in competitions?

Can only remember one time when I've been the victim of gamesmanship in a match...and it wasn't from the opposition players!!

Was playing for the club in an away match and we had a group of around...

    Re: Stableford css.

I've never seen Stableford CSS represented as simply/confusingly as what the OP posted. (delete as applicable)

When our club does our S'ford results the CSS is allways expressed in terms of S'ford...

    Poll: Re: Club captain

Many years ago our Ladies Section were having similar issues with finding a volunteer to be their Captain.

    Poll: Re: Club captain

Done it. Loved every minute of it but it was bloody hard work from the aspect of the time it took out of my life.

Would happily do it again at my club but only when I'm retired.
