    Re: 2017 Open Championship

    I got him at 66-1. Just a daft £1.
  2. Re: Decent pro in Newcastle/North Tyneside area?

Simon is excellent, and teaches out of boldon also, if you prefer a grass range.
  3. Re: Decent pro in Newcastle/North Tyneside area?

Isn't Tyneside south of the tyne? ;)

Yeh fantastic result for Stroll, I think being pipped on the line might actually be good as well. Will seem like a loss so may keep him motivated for a bit more this season.

What are people's views on the wkend?

I personally think vettel got off very lightly for the second incident, almost beggars belief that he can side swipe a rival and not get punished more...

Re: the new ap2, and ap3

Best thing about titleist clubs is that generally speaking they hold their value. One of the biggest factors when I bought my latest set.

    Re: Random ball

I was as shocked as you. The rough was on the side of a steep bank which sloped away from me, so I didn't want to go poking around and risk moving the ball as well, and it was sat quite visible...

Re: PW & GW/AW - Same as iron set or different?

I play 716 ap1s as well, have the pw (43deg), and the w wedge (47deg) in the set. I then go 52, 56 and 60. So technically it's five wedges, however I only use the 3 specialist wedges for...

    Random ball

Hit a ball into some pretty deep rough, which was on the edge of a bank going away from me.

Found my ball, identified it without having to move or lift, then proceeded to hack it out. It came...

Ice in a cloth on the eyes works best for me when they get really bad.

Other than that just try and manage through tablets. The home bargains ones mentioned above are good.

    Re: Painful Shin from running!

I get the same problem as beezerk, bizzarely noticed it more when wearing Nike football boots which have leather padding on the sides. Had to change to fabric cushioned boots and wear thinner socks...

Re: Certainty and the nearest point of relief

    Thanks for this.

Just checked a scorecard when home, and the exact wording on there is:
...The player must disregard the stroke, ABANDON the ball and play another ball as near as possible to the...

Re: Certainty and the nearest point of relief

I agree, in fact its very rare that you hit them, happened to myself maybe 3 times and more often than not you hear it as well as see it. Makes an oddly satisfying noise when you hit them.

    Just...

Re: Certainty and the nearest point of relief

No witness seen the ball hit the wire, he just found the ball in a spot where it could only have got to by hitting the wire. Would this provide the necessary certainty?

    The local rule that covers...

Certainty and the nearest point of relief

    2 questions.

First - how certain do you have to be that an event has occurred? Our course has electrical wires over three holes, if you hit these wires then you MUST replay your shot and discard...

My only suggestion for someone would be jimmy bullard, he's off +1 currently.
I don't think he started playing seriously until later on in twenties.

Re: TV Series - What Are You Watching?

I'm quite enjoying it, although your right in that it's more '24' than 'west wing'.

Assuming you have Netflix, but if you have access to amazon prime then alpha house is worth a watch.

Terrible news this time of year. Keep an eye out on eBay and gumtree. They may just be stupid enough to try and flog them on there
