Poll: Re: Short Game vs Long Game - Golf Debate -

More often than not if you miss the fairway by any distance you'll be affected by trees, deep rough, heather or water etc. Any of which can lead to either chopping out, laying up or just not being...

Poll: Re: Short Game vs Long Game - Golf Debate -

    Long game for me.
If my long game is on I can score well even if I don't hole any putts. But if I do have a good short game that day my score will be very good.
If my long game is poor I need my...

    Re: Another Short Game Thread

I lost a scratch matchplay game a couple of years ago against a scratch golfer (he'd been off +4 in his younger days).

We compared games afterwards, as he wanted to help me improve. We hit a...

    ( UK only )

    1. Best Course - Sunningdale New - only just better than the Old, the par 3's nudged it for me

    2. Best greens - Hollinwell - simply superb roll and consistent speeds

    3. Hardest...

Re: Annual end of term report

Handicap down from 5.2 to 4.3 which should suggest a good year. But I'm not overly happy.
The cut came from 2 level par rounds which each earned 0.6 cuts.
Too often this year I turned a good front...

    Sticky: Re: H4H 2nd October 2018

Now that would make it a brilliant, and worthwhile trip.
If there’s space I’d like to join in, assuming Derby is far enough away from Liphook!

Re: Porthcawl winter open Feb 2018

I don't think I'll be able to next year, but really enjoyed it this year (despite the fog), a top course, I bet it looks beautiful in the sunlight!

Definately recommend it to anyone who's...

Re: Season reflection and Winter Plans

On reflection it has been a pretty good year.
I have been cut from 5.2 to 4.3, shot level par rounds on a couple of occasions and was runner up in our club champs' beating a few scratch/county...

  23. Re: H4H additional games around Hankley Common (13th September)

    Far from it!
Really enjoyed the game and Hugh was a perfect host.
    Thanks ever so much.
Mark was great company & Tony wasn't a bad partner (he was awful 😛)!
    Cheers 🍻
  24. Re: Good luck this weekend- ONLY post here if you buffer or less this weekend!

1st round of our Autumn Cup yesterday. I played poorly, 5 over on the front 9 but rallied for 1 over on the back 9.
Net 74, 2 over net, which attained a buffer.
Annoyed with my play, but also happy...
