reading a recent post i was wondering how you guys mark your golf balls? I put my daughters names on my balls. Emma on one side...Sophie on the other. On difficult shots seeing their name kinda calms me down  ....makes me smile and relax. Funny that as i spend most of my time yelling at them!!!  ..(thats the kids not the balls!)

I mark my "Wilson Staff" with 2 dots, upper left and lower right of the name.
Once they are used and go into the practice bag....I write the words "I am a Golf God" all over them....or just RG, in blue...

I use a line up aid to extend the manufacturers alignment markings with a green pen and put a green circle above the top right of the manufacturer currently wilson staff. I sometimes put a golf flag image on as well but that was a sort of one off random stage.

Ive started making a thick black line round mine exagerating the alignment line on my prov's.They are great for putting and when driving they leave a slight mark on the clubface so I can see how well I am striking the ball.

I put a small T under the name of the ball.
The alaignment aids are great but the ones on titleist balls are good enough

Used to put a red "L" next to the number on my ball untill a couple of weeks ago I played a wrong ball and someone else played my ball. We were both using Callaway balls and my red L looked like the red V on a Big Bertha.
Trying to think up something else now..........

hellbunker, it does actually help me a lot, having the extended line just makes longer putts that little bit more accurate than if they were only lined up with the standard length alignment aid. My problem however is I line my ball up very well most of the time and then I subconsciously don't trust my line when I am about to stroke the ball on my through swing and end up closing the face to compensate for an error that doesn't exist, for example, and the putt ends up left. When I do manage to trust it my putts are usually pretty good.

problem with the dot marking is that they are so common. talking with a couple of pro's recently; both said that early on they never used to mark theirs, relying on ball number, but (at different times/places) were pulled up by a referee before a match and told it had to be a unique mark.
