Amen to that Imurg!
Something tells me the poor lad got a hell of a lot of TV exposure at a very young age and when he was not quite ready to take on the rest of the pro golfing fraternity. Seems he was thrust upon an unsuspecting British public as the next "Big Thing" in British golf. Obviously a dip in form has him down as a "Has been"
Just hope he continues to play well and work his way up the order.

See he had a good third round and now leads by 4 shots. Would be great if he finished it off tomorow.

what an awful display of putting......he could have knocked that tiddler at the 2nd play off hole in with his c**k! He may take a long time to get over this,he really did blow it big time.

Youth and inexperience.
The missed tap in was irrelevant as Lucquin birdied his putt. However, how many times have we seen the lad rush his putts? Far too many IMO. He needs to calm down and take a bit more time.
Dreadfully bad luck for him, but still a great performance from the young lad.

Never mind Rory.
There will be more chances. At least he was there at the end and yes he rushed it all a bit.
Still, don't forget you don't have to be youthful and inexperienced to miss those putts when there's a lot of money on the table - many a pro has done the same.
Hope it doesn't hurt him too much and I hope he's going to the Belfry in a couple of weeks coz I'm going to follow him every shot.

beg to differ that the missed tiddler did not matter as the pressure was totally off the frenchman once he had 2 for it.Not so sure he would have rolled it home had it been for the win.Gutted for the kid.

he is. Watched him last year at the Brit Masters and he was playing shots with no fear at all - shots that your journeyman pro wouldn't even have thought were possible as they are too wary of missing cuts.
Give him a couple more years and if we're lucky............

Very diasappointed that he didn't finish things off after a great drive down the last - that first putt was never even close to going in. Bruce Critchley called it as dead straight and the ball left the putter going left all the way. Blowing it like that could ruin a lesser player but I'm sure he can bounce back quickly. He's too good not to.

Regardless of the finish, which wasn't actually all that bad. He damaged his confidence right on the first hole, when he mucked up a shot into the green. Then did something similar on the second.
The frenchman didn't win, but more Rory, gave it away over the first few holes. Everything else was almost inevitable. Rory did quite well to finish joint at the end considering the mental stress.
Personally I wanted Jimenez to win & he came very close, remarkably close considering the flatstick had been letting him down all week.
Coming back To Rory, I think its just a matter of time before he starts to win & win big.
