Why would they not be?

Golf in China is a rich mans game, and the equipment for sale in China is expensive. If they were genuine, then they would have to be supplied from Cally / Ping's factory, and I think they might get a bit annoyed if their gear is being pedalled through the back door on the cheap.

China's land of the fakes these days wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Yes they are fakes, these are not clones but total fakes. Yes the numpties on EBay buy these in bulk and make loads of cash doing so, yet EBay does little to stop it. I once saw a set of Ping G10 clubs, everything from driver to irons of G10's + matching G10 tour bag on EBay, the fella wanted £250 stating he bought them in Hong Kong knowing they where fakes (he said clones but there is a massive difference between the two) and said advert was taken off by EBay after a few days.

That said, there are some good EBay pro shops on there, I saw some MX25s second hand for £325 and only owned for 3 months (Carnoustie golf shop) earlier in the year.

A guy I know once returned from a trip to China, and showed me the TM R7 driver he had purchased there for 100USD. Aesthetically it was perfect, shaft, head and headcover were identical to the original.
After a few balls at the driving range (none of which went straight and far), though, the face showed a dent right in the center. I think it was made of aluminum instead of titanium...

Fakes are rife in China, as everyone knows, largely the upsetting thing is that most of the time they cannot recreate the durability or the special quality of the authentic counterpart.

If you get some Callaways for $300, it will be short lived.
