Hi guys
Went to get some new shoes in AG today and got a bit distracted...
Saw some second hand TaylorMade LH "RAC" oversize irons, and on impulse traded them in for my random powerbilt ones some guy in a golf workshop put together for me after i had my old set nicked.
Regular flex graphite shafts btw, I got them for £100 plus my old set.
Bearing in mind I am a high-mid handicapper (pro reckons i should get down to 15 in no time), how did i do? Are they any good?

I think only you can tell us that by the way you use them.
I am pretty sure RAC irons are for low teen Handicappers so you have to be able to strike the ball pretty well to use them. They have less weight in than my X20's so I feel as though they wont go as far, but they go just aswell.
Very nice Iron to strike if you middle the ball. Good luck keep us posted

They're a nice club. Doesn't sound like a bad deal but all that matters is how you hit them.

Are they these ones? If so they are decent irons and ideal for you. Have fun with them and enjoy the new clubs feeling.

The oversize versions are game improvement clubs, the standard rac and rac LT's are for the lower handicappers. Still good clubs and not the hardest in the world to hit. Id say a very good swap.

The game is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym and on the range, long before I even make the first tee.

Cor that was jammy, they are exactly those ones htl!
I hit them beautifully on the range last night, then played today and hit very few good shots. Why does this always happen?!
On another note, I am getting quite dispirited about my golf. The breakthrough round doesn't seem to be out there, and I have played my course 12 times since joining in July and STILL not broken 100. I am going for lessons which is really helping but my Pro's prediction of 15 h/c seems a long way off! I am currently off 24 and not playing to it - my first ever proper handicap. My last rounds have been 101, 93, 100, and 106 (playing alone so doesnt count for me) My course is well known around here for being a test, so maybe I just have to show some patience.... or maybe I should've joined an easier track for my first club! any advice guys?

Funny, I was looking at them just a few weeks back. Nice clubs and a couple of my mates use them and won't part with them.

Surely the "oversize" RAC are for higher handicap players?....in which case, you may have stumbled across a great deal.....wow....

i.i.r.c. online golf were doing RAC HTs for £149 not so long ago. I nearly went for this. I'm not a great fan of oversize and especially offset, but that's a personal thing. I remember when the early Big Bertha irons came out.....my old old pro bought a set and everyone laughed because they were supposedly an improvers iron. Well, he showed em in great style by winning all sorts of low-level regional PGA comps. Whatever the type of iron they are, you'll be safe with them.....nice one!
