So who is going to pre order? I am waiting and reading the reviews first, I have not payed it but 08 was suppose to be a waste of money if you have 07 so I didnt bother.
I only have a PS2, how much do you think they will have improved it?

08 was a massive improvement over 07 on the Xbox 360 so was worth the cash. I tend to buy the latest version as it is one of the few games I play for a full year.
Perhaps GM may want a volunteer to do a short review for the magazine (subtle hint)

I've only just installed 07 on the PC (I was given it) and still haven't got it to work! Where is the swing meter?

Hope it is good - fed up with 07. Won 39 tournaments on the bounce, got 90 million in the bank and if I shoot 20 under for 4 rounds I'm playing really bad............

Imurg- change the difficulty setting! If you are already on tourpro level though and shooting those scores you should be one of the top ranked players in the online section of the game presuming you play online. I am certainly looking forward to playing Wentworth on 09 having been there in person- should be very interesting. I was surprised at Rory Mcilroy's inclusion as well.
And in answer to my own question it seems to be coming out late august- some places have quoted the 26th other the 28th.
Viscount by wheres the swing meter do you mean that you are having to control the swing by moving the mouse backwards and forwards?

I am totally sad, used the 360 camera to input my face onto my golfer on 08.
Believe 09 is out 29th August.

eagle, yes I'm using the mouse but there is nothing showing to indicate what is happening. I can get left/right rotation but no backswing, nothing to indicate how far and no downswing.
The booklet talks about a 3-click control and implies the traditional power bar but nothing.

Just looked at the animation on that clip & everyone looks so puffy & unreal, you'd think with the animation technology they've got now TW09 would have been more of a leap forward than this Must say I find it really disapointing that most of the courses are in the USA & that the only course they chose from the UK was Wentworth, big deal, How about the Belfy. And especially with so many good courses coming from the home of golf, I'm of course refering to Scotland. NO St Andrews No Troon or Turnbury, complete with the lighthouse. Or for that Matter how about the K Club in Ierland.
No this is why I like Real World Golf, that & you actually have some real imput in that what you do with your hands & how you swing with your body relates into the results. OK, they need to work on the putting in real world golf, play it & you'll see what I mean. But still leaps & bounds ahead of any TW game, plus you get Peter Alliss making snide remarks, great fun.

I had 06 for PC which I ran on my laptop until I discovered it was crashing my pathetic onboard intel 945GM graphics. So, I bought 08 for PS2 and hated it......it was like an arcade-style game compared to the realistic PC experience (albeit with unsatisfactory chipset). I miss the 06 (I did a reformat) and would love to get back into it. I might try a TW game again if I pluck up the courage to buy a PS3 for the blu-ray and gran turismo.
Can anyone recommend a good laptop golf game?
PS....my username came over from the EA sports forum....

TW 08 on the Wii is top fun. The control method using the Wii remote adds that extra dimension which has always been lacking for me in other golf games.
Having said that, you may find yourself standing in the middle of your living room, in your pyjamas at one in the morning gesticulating wildly at the television and , in a momentary spark of clarity, wonder at the insanity of your situation. I suggest you keep the curtains closed or your neighbours may try to have you sectioned.
