Me and my regular playing partner have just entered this comp and i was just seeing if any other forum member has been involved in this over the past couple of years, basically you play a couple of local matches either at your own course or away at your opponents depending on the draw which is then followed by a regional final leading to the grand finals in Egypt...

I've not played in this but I'd have a horrible feeling there will be a few "intersting" handicaps. There was a debate on here a while back about these guys that turn up to local open events and shoot something like a net 5 or six under off 11 or 12 and are clearly single figure players and obviously protecting their handicaps at their home course.

Me and a mate entered these things a few years back and played some nice courses but we did meet some interesting handicaps. One guy hit out 498 yard par 5 in a driver and wedge! Playing off 17!!
That's the trouble with these - the prizes are so great that the temptation to cheat on handicaps is immense.

Watched on tv takes abut 42 points each match to win. Some dodgy handicaps float around in that comp.

That is a better ball of 42 points though which isn't too bad.
