Technically the committee were correct, they had to follow the rules. They cant decide which rules to follow and which they can turn a blind eye to depending on the weather. Was there no-one from the comps committee at the club at the time of the deluge? They could have made a decision about suspending play or ceasing play. Maybe they didn't want to get wet though! I've been there before myself and have battled on until we just couldnt play the 14th, the area around the hole was completely submerged. We walked in at that point. Previous group did the same but sought out one of the comps committee who went to see for himself and then ceased all play. Also been in situation where we have marked balls and gone into clubhouse to ask for guidance. Didn't complete that round either, but that was our decision so in effect NRd. |
