As someone who can only move the ball inadvertantly I would be aiming to get it within the magic 15 foot and hope to make the putt but secure a two putt green and move on. I'm not always convinced moving the ball is necessarily the best ploy. Agreed if the flag is tucked away it may be easier to get at it with a draw/fade but by the same token it then brings the hazards into play if the shot is over played. I think it is great if you can move the ball at will and undoubtedly the better golfers on here may present an argument as to why it is better to do so (I understand that hitting a left to right fade will allow the ball to land softer etc) but for mere mortals like me I think I'll stick to trying to find the short grass off the tee and then see about finding the dancefloor from there and seeing whats left if I acheive that aim. |
