following on from rock fight..

am i to assume (correctly or incorrectly)that as a 'long' putter a softer ball would help distance control.if so has anyone changed balls and found a vast improvement in their putting or am i clutching at straws....all help really appreciated still seeking that elusive sub 100 round.ta
