Caddy Lite .............. Thank you.
      #55055 - 21/08/2008 09:39

As I am sure you are all aware I have been banging the drum for CaddyLite for about 4 months now and today I must say they have been amazing in sorting out a wee problem I had when I went to St Andrews Fairmont earlier in the summer. I went their for my birthday and loaded up my CL with the course layout but when we got there we discovered that there had been alterations to the course ( we were on the 3rd and my CL was telling me I was 895yeads to the front of the green and it was a PAR 3 ) and the CL became useless as we didn't know where we were on the old course. I mentioned this to Robert Travis, Opps manager for Golf Plus (they make the CL) and he swiftly credited my account with TWO course credits (worth £20) and appologised for the wrong map being on their system even though Fairmont had NOT informed them of any changes as they should have done.

So I would like to say a big thank you to Robert and Golf Plus for their swift and sterling customer service.

Despite being firmly in the Sky Caddy camp it is good to see outstanding customer service from whoever. It restores some faith that not everyone is out to make a quick buck from our addiction.

Have to say though it is pretty shoddy of the course not to notify any significant changes. I guess this is going to be an ongoing issue whatever device you use

Unfortunately this is also true of Yardage charts, my own course included. Also played two courses recently where no course plan was available and both had a somewhat convoluted layout.
Still there is always the Mk.1 Eyeball

Since my course has changed pretty much every winter for the past 3 years, the course planner is hopeless, and I would guess that Skycaddie etc would be too. We are doing more changes this winter too apparently.

The course record gets annulled every year too. Luckily this has never bothered me.
